Product description
Socket thermostat for switching on
With this thermostat between
heating ribbon and socket, frost protection automatically switches on as soon as the ambient temperature is lower than the set value.
Applications
n general, to protect pipes from freezing, a switch-on temperature of +3...+5 °C is desired. (At higher temperatures, the heat tape will therefore not consume power)
The display of the socket thermostat shows the temperature set by you. As soon as it gets colder in the room, mains voltage will be applied to the output. The plugged-in heat ribbon is then activated and begins to heat the water pipe. At that moment, the current (measured) temperature appears on the screen.
You can use this socket thermostat only if the heat cable (or other form of electric heating) is in the same room. For example, useful for keeping the water pipes in the garage frost-free, with minimum power consumption without the risk of forgetting to plug in on time....
Other applications: switching on auxiliary heating, for example a radiant heater, in a caravan, boat or other unheated space.
Tip: the operation is very simple and by experimenting a little with a floor lamp you will quickly get the hang of it!
Note: this thermostat is not suitable for a humid room, such as a stable. Choose a
frost switch for this purpose.
