Product description
The night-frost GSM alarm (CM-4200X) is a reliable remote temperature monitor that warns of impending night frost or temperature deviations. The system continuously measures the ambient temperature using an external sensor and immediately sends a phone call and/or SMS to pre-set contacts as soon as the set limit is reached.
The night frost alarm has been specially developed for outdoor applications and is housed in a waterproof IP67 enclosure. The device operates on built-in batteries, meaning no mains power is required and it can be easily placed at any desired measurement location. Thanks to the integrated 4G LTE-M / GSM module, the alarm can be deployed anywhere mobile coverage is available.
Product application
The night frost alarm is widely used for:
- Warning of approaching night frost in orchards and fruit farming
- Protection of blossom and crops
- Temperature monitoring of outdoor locations and storage areas
- Monitoring of locations without a permanent power supply
As soon as a frost alert is received, the user can take immediate measures, such as turning on irrigation, frost protection or heating. The alarm continuously monitors the temperature and records all changes at the measured location.
Key features
- Temperature measurement with external sensor
- Alarm notification via GSM (call and/or text message)
- Adjustable alarm temperature
- Runs entirely on batteries
- Suitable for outdoor use
- Easy to relocate to other measurement locations
Outdoor frost detector
The night frost communication detector has a waterproof housing, with a sensor attached via a small cable. Connection wires are not applicable as the detector operates on built-in batteries. This makes it easy to change the measurement location. It is important that there is signal coverage. You can easily test this in advance.
SIM card for frost alarm
The wireless night frost detector contains a GSM module, for which you can use any standard SIM card. It is suitable for a mobile contract, as well as a pay-as-you-go card. To receive an alarm, you can enter 1 to 5 different numbers, for both mobile phones and landlines.
Night frost 4G communication detector
In the event of a risk of freezing, the night frost detector sends the SMS message and/or makes a call set by the user. In the event of an alarm, 1 to 5 different telephone numbers can be called. As soon as one of these accepts the alarm call, calling the other numbers stops.
The Mobeye CM4200X only provides an alarm, with possible repetitions. The CML4275 displays the temperature trend online on the phone, in addition to alerting. Once in an alarm state, the graph is refreshed every few minutes. The detectors can operate on batteries for a long period. The temperature sensor is factory calibrated.
Battery-powered 4G communication detector
The night frost detector is battery-operated and also indicates when they are running low. The batteries are included and last for 1 year under normal use.
Night frost detector settings options
Enabling the night frost alarm can be done time-controlled (automatically) or manually (via your mobile phone). This night frost communication detector is also suitable for other applications, thanks to its wide temperature range and robust housing. Examples include agricultural applications, such as animal housing and product storage areas. The frost detector has functions for alarm texts and alarm repetition or delay. Operation is carried out directly from your own smartphone. Connecting a laptop or wiring is not necessary to set it up. With a standard SIM card (provider of your choice, e.g. Simyo), it is ready for immediate use.
TIP: You can use your own mobile phone beforehand to check whether the mobile network signal is strong enough at the desired location.
Added value of Mobeye SIM card/portal
As a SIM card, we advise activating the supplied Mobeye SIM card. This allows the device to communicate via both 4G LTE-M and 2G and is “multi-provider”. It selects the strongest local network, has excellent penetration capability and therefore provides a reliable connection. With the Mobeye SIM card, the device is also connected to the Mobeye Portal and the Mobeye Messages app. This provides extra security and user-friendliness. The status of one or more devices can be seen at a glance on the dashboard. Programming is done online, the receipt of test messages is checked automatically, and in the event of problems, contacts are alerted via app, call, text message and/or email. Forwarding to an alarm receiving centre (ARC) is also possible. The SIM card costs €4/month* excl. VAT (flat fee for normal use), (annual) payment is online, or -upon request- by invoice. Can be used throughout Europe. *Please note: prices may vary. See the link below for current prices.
A personal SIM card is also possible (NL: KPN or Vodafone, NOT T-Mobile or subsidiaries). The device will then work (solely) via 2G and the Mobeye Portal functions will cease to apply. In the event of an alarm, it will call and/or text (to a maximum of 5 numbers). Please note that a pay-as-you-go card expires if it is not used for too long.
